Hidalgo Academy is an alternative high school that serves students who have identified a need beyond the traditional high school environment to achieve success. This program provides credit recovery opportunities and post-secondary preparation for these students.

At Hidalgo Academy, we are very proud of our small, family-style, learning community, which has contributed greatly to our reaching the highest accountability level available to alternative schools in Texas, academically acceptable, and allowed us to meet AYP two years in a row.

We believe in each and every one of our students. Despite our highly economically disadvantaged population, we make "No Excuses" and provide them with the best education possible. With the proper educational foundation all of our students are set to pursue higher education, receive a university diploma and excel in the working field. Hidalgo ISD prepares all student to think beyond what is expected focusing them to reach their potentials and achieve greatness.
