    The Gates Millennium Scholars program, established in 1999, was initially funded by a 1 billion dollar grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The goal of GMS is to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for outstanding minority students with significant financial need to reach their highest potential.

    The Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) has established the Community Scholarship Program to meet the financial needs of students in communities that host Simon regional shopping centers.


  • HSF/Valley Alliance of Mentors Opportunities & Scholarships  
    Due: January 31, 2009
    The HSF/VAMOS Scholarship Program is designed to assist high school seniors of Hispanic heritage from Hidalgo County in Texas obtain a bachelor's degree. Selected students may receive up to $5,000 for four academic years for a possible total award of $20,000.

    The KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program is about you, your dreams and aspirations, and the perseverance to succeed. This program is offered to high school seniors planning to attend a public in-state college or university. Students who meet the criteria may apply online to become a KFC’s Colonel’s Scholar. Students selected for this scholarship are eligible to receive up to $20,000 to complete a bachelor’s degree program.


  • Burger King Scholars Program  
    Due Date: February 2, 2009
    Burger King, Scholars awards are $1,000 each and may be used for educational expenses such as tuition fees and books, during the first year of college or post-secondary vocational/technical school.


  • UTPA University Scholars  
    Due: February 1, 2009
    ONCE STUDENT QUALIFIES, HE/SHE WILL BE SENT USERNAME AND PASSWORD TO APPLY ONLINE; Must have 12hrs. AP credit and/or CE credit from UTPA; "B" or better in each course; Credit must include ENG 1301 or higher and MATH 1340 (or higher); Must have 22+ ACT composite/ 1030+SAT composite.


  • Girls Going Places College Scholarship

    Must be NOMINATED and provide an essay demonstrating your own "budding entrepreneurship"; Students 12-18 years old can participate.
