Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education-to benefit from teacher-led and school activities, to build each day's learning on the previous day's, and to grow as an individual. Absences from class may result in serious disruption of a student's mastery of the instuctional materials; therefore, the student and parent should make every effort to avoid unnecessary absences. Parents please make sure that you schedule your doctor's and dentist's appointments after 3:15 p.m. We want to provide your children with the best education possible and this can only happen if they are in school. We ask for your continued support in this endeavor. Our instructional day begins promptly at 8:00 am.
The State of Texas recognizes the importance of school attendance and requires districts to notify parents in writing concerning the compulsory attendance law, Education Code 25.093. 2. Absent from school on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period.
The District will notify the parents if the student is absent from school on three days or parts of days within a four-week period.
