About The Easter Egg Hunt
During the first week of April, an Easter Egg Hunt is held at Salinas Elementary. This is an event that has already become a tradition and one that students are always eagerly looking foward to.  Students bring some decorated Easter eggs in an assortment of colors and designs and enjoy of an outdoor activity where they can interact with each other in a social context.

What is Easter?
The decoration of Easter eggs is an activity that is practiced around the world. It has been in our culture for quite some time. Easter eggs are decorated and filled with confetti given out to celebrate the Easter holiday or springtime. Hollow chicken eggs are usually used, but a modern tendency is to use plastic hollow eggs filled with treats  instead. In our culture, it is also a tradition to hide the eggs for the children to find and collect in an Easter basket. Later the children will crack the Easter eggs on the heads of adults or each other as part of the fun.
