One of the first parades that engages our students and community in a joyful gathering is the Homecoming Parade, which is usually held around the first week of October. It involves the enthusiastic participation of students and community members that come together to show their spirited support to our district football team.
This years homecoming parade theme was "Grease". Salinas Elementary cheerleading squad received 2nd place.

The yearly tradition continues for Salinas Elementary where students, parents, and staff come together to present a magnificent adorned lighted float which represents our school at the already traditonal "Festival of Lights." This is a fabulous Christmas parade that has become a tradition in the City of Hidalgo. It offers the opportunity for schools and other community members to participate by showcasing wonderfully adorned lighted floats.
Boderfest is another wonderful opportunity where our school participates with a float decorated in accordance to the yearly theme. In addition to the float, a dance team composed by the cheerleaders, also participates with an innovative and delightful dance number. In order to make this participation a success, a group of parents, students, and staff work incessantly to make costumes, choreograph a dance number, and decorate the float. As always, teamwork is what makes our school succeed!
