The Building Scholars Program is an after school tutorial designed to assist students in the Third through Fifth Grade, who have been identified as having a need for intervention in one or all of the following content areas: Reading, Mathematics, Writing and Science. Student identification is based on classroom performance, teacher observation and benchmark results.
The purpose of the Building Scholars program is to provide intervention strategies in a small group setting. This extension to the instructional day is provided by the Third through Fifth Grade classroom teachers, with the help of all other professional staff.
The Building Scholars After School Program is conducted annually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and also on select Saturdays from 8:00a.m.-12:00p.m. It begins in October and runs through April. Transportation is offered to those students who normally receive this service as a part of the regular school day.
